Cold

The young woman stood with her thumb in the air. It was late at night, she was cold, she was tired and she just wanted to get home. She sighed as another car ignored her and turned down the next dark street. After what seemed like hours a blue Sudan started to stop in front of her.

Just as she was stepping in the back seat, she received a text.

Don’t get in. He’s a murderer.

She stared down at her phone and then to the driver. The man driving had dark brown hair and light green eyes. He looked fairly normal, but the girl stepped back anyway, muttering her apologies. She stepped back and the car sped away. She felt in her purse for money. She no longer wanted a ride home. She was slightly shaken and wondered about the text. She spun around knowing that the texter would of have to of been watching her.

She slowly stepped across a few streets until she landed in front of a small motel. The man on the front desk offered her a room and she took it. She held the key tightly in her hand and passed the doorman. The doorman had pale wrinkled skin and light blue eyes. His hair was mostly hidden under his big red hat.

Welcome…” He whispered in an unpleasant voice. The girl walked the the wide open doors. “Sally.” Spinning round Sally  breathed heavily. The doorman smiled and closed the wide open door, locking it behind him. As he turned back to the front of the room Sally tried the door handle. It wouldn’t budge. She turned down the dark hallway. Sally heard the floorboards creak below her light feet.

She opened her door and a mist flew out. Inside was what really made her scream. Running back down the hallway she started kicking and screaming at the doorman. Tears poured out of her eyes. The doorman didn’t flinch. She punched right through the glass door.

The doorman slowly turned. And he laughed.

Time to go back to your room… Sally.” Despite looked old and weak, the doorman was easily strong enough to drag her down the hallway back to her room. He threw her inside then closed the door laughing so hard he showed all of his sharpened teeth. Frozen bodies lay the icy ground. Sally was locked in a freezer room.

Sally tried to keep her self as warm as possible but couldn’t keep out the thought that her fate would be the same as that of the other occupants of the room. Suddenly Sally heard a small amount of movement occoring behind her. She crawled to the place of movement and saw an older woman.

Blood, so much blood…” Whipered the woman. She stared at a small patch in front of the closed door. There lay a group of other frozen people. Suddenly Sally noticed that their skin was much like the skin of the doorman. Their teeth were those of snakes and their eyes were blood red. Before Sally could think the doorman returned

Time for a midnight snake!” He slurred. He picked up one of the frozen men. Like a snake, he unhinged his jaw while barring overly large pointed teeth. He stabbed his front two teeth in to the mans neck and drank. The frozen man face rapidly changed look like the other people at the foot of the door.

The doorman’s lips were covered in blood and he laughed as Sally screamed. He slammed the door shut and walked back down the hallway. Sally turned back to the older lady but the woman was in a deep sleep. Sally felt cold.
