Mother Nature

The comfort against a storm,

The soft teddy bear I can reach,

Making me feel warm,

Our friendship never breached

Resilient and proud,

Loving me the way I am,

A pair of eyes to scan the crowd,

Helping me on the tram

Each day she is  born,

Over time she is bred,

Tossed and torn,

From the bad things I said

Yet she is deeply strong,

Moving on from her past,

Accepting the things that were wrong,

Hoping that it will never last

Empathetic and reflective,

She was there in my sorrow,

Broadening my perspective,

She gave me strength for the morrow

Gentle, yet powerful,

She takes us under her wing,

Impulsive, yet careful,

Giving us vigor to sing

Stretching her branches to provide new homes,

Providing sunlight for those to nurture and grow,

Beyond the Cities, how far she roams,

Beyond the land, how much she knows

It hurts to hurt her,

It stings you deeply,

I will clean up her burrs,

As long as you can help guide my journey with me.
