Toyota Australian Business Arts Foundation Award
The City of Onkaparinga and the SA Writers' Centre have won an Australian Business Arts Foundation Award for Engaging the Community through Literature. The inaugural South Australian Writers' Festival occurred in September 2001, becoming a launching pad for a strong and enduring partnership between the Council and the Centre. Subsequently a further two writers' festivals and four poetry festivals (Poetry Unhinged, formerly Unplugged) have grown from this collaboration.
The SA Writers' Centre is assisted by the South Australian Government through Arts SA, and the Commonwealth Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory bodies.
