1987
The Writers' Centre really got into its stride in 1987, with our first premises leased, at 265-267 Rundle Street, and membership growing to over 220. Events increased, including a 'Night of Ethnic Writers', an 'East Coast Tour of SA Poets' to Sydney, 'Poets and Prose Writers Lunch', and 'Writers in the Park'.
Workshops included 'public performance / performance skills', 'songwriting workshop', 'SA scriptwriters' conference', 'writing as a business: the truth about tax', 'city and country women writers weekend residential workshop', and 'writing for young people'.
The 1987 committee of management: Elizabeth Mansutti (chair), David Harris, Steven Holliday, Evelyn Tindale, Phillip Everett, Jenny Boult, Bronwyn Mewett, Rodin Genoff, Anastasia and Mikol Furneaux.
