1989: a year of exciting events and occasions. Our first publication: ABC for new writers was launched in Naracoorte Caves. We held 'A Smorgasbord of Writing' evening, plus several workshops and seminars with prominent South Australians. We launched our first publication: ABC For New Writers, at Naracoorte Caves. Hackney Tavern was the venue for this 'celebration of South Australian Writers', featuring half a dozen local celebrities, who read excerpts from the works of their favourite South Australian writers.

This seminar was held on August 5th, at the Centre, from 10.00am - 4.00pm. It featured speakers Sue Scobie: Children's Editor Ashton Scholastic; Lois Krok - non-fiction for children, Elizabeth Hutchins, children's fiction; Elizabeth Mansutti, TV, radio and film for children.
