2002
2002 saw a continuation of the Writers' Centre's range of fantastic events, seminars, workshops and youth initiatives. 2002 was also a great year for publications, including Chafing at the Gate (cover pictured below), a short story anthology from SA writers aged 18 and under, who were winners of the 2002 SA Writers' Centre and Seaview Press short story competition. Writer's Caf continued to provide a lively monthly occasion for writers of all genres to showcase their talents.

2002 was the year of a sad farewell to the SA Writers' Centre's administrator, editor and publicist Mary Combe, whose contributions to the Writers' Centre were enormous. She left in order to spend more time with family in Australia and overseas, and was sadly fare-welled at the St Lucy's party.
