Patrick Allington

Patrick Allington's novel Figurehead was longlisted for the 2010 Miles Franklin award, and his short fiction has appeared in Meanjin, Griffith Review, The Big Issue, Southerly and elsewhere. He writes regular book criticism for Australian Book Review and The Advertiser, and his critical writings have appeared in The Weekend Australian and The Monthly. Patrick was awarded the Barbara Hanrahan Fellowship at the 2010 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature, and he is the inaugural ABR (Australian Book Review) Patrons' Fellow. He was inaugural Fiction Editor of Melbourne literary magazine Etchings, and has edited everything from fiction to scholarly works to a first aid manual.
